How CPAL Began
Our origin story
We are parents, grandparents, friends, and people in our community who have become increasingly concerned with issues happening in our public schools. In the last few years, our primary worries have been about the potential impacts on kids who have been forced to wear masks, who have been unnecessarily forced into online classes, who have been forced to physically distance, and who have sometimes even needed a vaccine QR code to take part in school sports and clubs. Even worse, it has become increasingly obvious that our children are being indoctrinated, not educated, around topics about race, sexual orientation, and gender. We have also noticed an increased tendency to sexualize our children (topics we will get into more in future Substack articles). In short, schools seem more invested in pushing political agendas than they are in keeping our children safe and providing them with a proper education that focuses on numeracy and literacy skills.
Many of us have attempted, on numerous occasions, to reach out to teachers, school principals, board trustees, superintendents, and elected government officials, and yet we have been unable to make any progress. Our concerns have either been left unanswered, ignored, or disregarded, and, at times, we have been gaslit.
As we continued to meet more people in our community with the same concerns, our growth was organic. From letter writing to protesting, we did it all; unfortunately, it became apparent that we had to expand and become more organized. So, we created the Concerned Parents Association of London & Area, a grassroots group of parents and citizens committed to combatting the ideological agenda pushed by the school boards, an agenda that is steering our children away from critical thinking as well as personal autonomy and individual well-being.
Our mission is to ensure that our schools provide a positive and effective learning environment for all children. We aim to hold trustees accountable, ensure adherence to the curriculum which focuses on teaching our children skills that they will need for the future as well as keep politics out of our schools. We want parents' concerns to be heard and addressed in a timely, substantive, and respectful manner. Through our efforts, we seek to empower our community and create a better educational experience for all children.
Our vision is for all children in the London area to have access to high-quality education in a positive and supportive environment. We envision a community where parents and schools work together to ensure that children receive the resources and attention they need to succeed and that parents' concerns are addressed adequately by the schools. Through our efforts, we hope to create a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration that fosters lifelong learning and empowers children to reach their full potential.
We believe in transparency, open and honest communication between parents, schools, and the community, and strive to ensure that the school board's decision-making processes are transparent and are made accountable to the public.
We believe that collaboration between parents, schools, and the community is essential for creating a positive and effective learning environment for children, and we are committed to working together to achieve our goals.
We believe that parents have an important role to play in advocating for their children's education, and we are committed to providing resources and support to help parents navigate the school system and advocate as effectively as possible for our children.
We invite you to join us! Share our message with other concerned parents in the community that align with our mission and vision and help us grow so we can make a difference together.

When did we veer from the cohesive reality that it takes a village to raise a child? Educators - often parents themselves - are being coerced by a pay cheque to subject our children to unhealthy practices and ideas. Weakening our children means weakening our society and our future. Together we need to question these unfounded, unscientific and destructive agendas that disempower the bright minds and beautiful souls we are shaping and have the courage to stand up for them. First, do no harm.
