Great success at the London 1MillionMarch4Kids
We had a beautiful, sunny day for London’s 1MillionMarch4Children protest. Thousands showed up to protest and march for our children. Despite a small counter-protest on the other side of the street, there was no violence. We were pleased to see many London Police Officers standing by to ensure it remained peaceful.
We received lots of love from people in passing cars as we marched up Highbury to Oxford and back. Upon returning from the march to our initial protest location (Thames Valley District School Board office), the crowd swelled thanks to the rest of the protestors joining us at the board, having marched from City Hall.

Hello … it’s so great to see so many people gathered here today in unity, for one very important reason - to protect our children.
This reason may look a little different to each of us, but let’s be honest, we are all concerned about our children’s well-being, in the schools and beyond the walls of the institution. Parents have a right to know what's happening with their child at school, especially if it has the potential to significantly change their life trajectory. Every one of us has a part to play, from the momma bears and poppa bears, to the educators. We have been divided on what protecting our children looks like, so maybe it’s time that we all sat down together in love and peace, and have an open dialogue about what this really means to all of us. We need to come together in unity, and stop being divided. Together we can make the education system better reflect the community as a whole. We do not harbour any animosity towards any group. We hold no hate in our hearts. We are motivated by the LOVE of our children and our concerns about what they are being taught in schools.
We as parents / taxpayers have a right to voice our concerns, and these concerns are very valid and should never be dismissed. The trustees were voted in to reflect our voice in the community and from the experience of many of the parents in our community, our voices are not being heard. We vote in trustees to be our voice in the school boards, they are paid for by taxpayer money, so make sure you email them with your concerns, they have an obligation to respond. The directors and supervisors are not voted in, but they are paid for by our tax dollars and also have a responsibility to connect with any and all parents in the school district.
I am here today to speak on behalf of CPAL - the Concerned Parents Association of London (and area). We are a group of concerned parents, grandparents, educators, and citizens… families from every race, religion and community.
CPAL’s Mission Statement …
is to ensure that our schools provide a positive and effective learning environment for all children. We aim to hold trustees accountable, ensure adherence to the curriculum, and keep politics out of our schools. We will advocate for parents' concerns to be heard and addressed in a timely manner while promoting positive education and providing guidance and resources to parents. Through our efforts, we seek to empower our community and create a better educational experience for all students.
We are the Concerned Parents Association of London & Area, a grassroots group of parents and citizens committed to combating the ideological agenda pushed by the school boards that is steering our children away from the curriculum.
